The Early Greeks

Greece was one of the first civilizations. Most of the population were seafarers. The culture is named Minoans after king Minos. The writing was almost hieroglyphics. One of the most famous myths is of the Minotaur. King Aegeas had a son named Theseus. He wasn’t allowed to live in the palace but later his father let him back in the palace. They had to pay fourteen people to Crete, so he was one of them. He and Ariadne fell in love and she brought him a sword and a ball of yarn. He uses them to kill the Minotaur and Ariadne is forced to marry a Greek god. His father accidently threw himself off a cliff thinking his son had died. Today that part of the ocean is called the Aegen sea.
