Nat Bowditch Should Have Been Indentured

Nat’s dad should have indentured Nat for three reasons: he wouldn’t be the same Mr. Bowditch we know today, he wouldn’t be the same great sailor we know today, and his dad loved him, but saw opportunity.

Nat’s father should have indentured Nat JR because he wouldn’t be the same Mr. Bowditch we know today. One of the great things he did is he made many corrections in mores. This is important because many would get lost at sea because of the errors in mores. He got discipline from being indentured, which led him to great things. He also made friends with Mr. Hodges who played an important part in the story.

Nat should have been indentured because he wouldn’t be the same great sailor today. He learned valuable skills like being captain of a ship which led to him clearing the fog at the end of the book. He learned how to sail a ship and how to navigate it. If Nat wasn’t indentured, he wouldn’t be the same great man today.

Nat’s dad loved Nat but saw an opportunity. Habakkuk loved Nat but they were poor so Habakkuk indentured him so he wouldn’t have to spend as much on food. Mr. Hodges taught him valuable life lessons that his father couldn’t have taught him. He learned three languages that he could use in many different countries.

Nat’s dad should have indentured Nat because he wouldn’t be the same Mr. Bowditch we know today; he wouldn’t be the same great sailor we know today and, his dad loved him but saw opportunity.
